Federal Environment Minister Watt and Premier Cook held a press conference yesterday to announce updates to the EPBC Act and how that interacts with WA state environmental considerations. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1DxXSGYzAT/

It’s interesting to note Minister Watt’s comments that:

• The new National Environmental Standards (covering Matters of National Environmental Significance and Offsets) should be available about mid this year, after the public comment period closed on this 31 Jan this year. (NRPG and numerous other environmental organisations made submissions).
• There will be two other draft documents associated with the EPBC update, coming out for public consultation this month.
