Please find attached “Icons to Ashes”, a report reporting on the devastating results from the prescribed burning practice in the Walpole Wilderness Area predominantly, but which most likely mirror other regions in the south-west and the South Coast district.
We hope you can distribute this report and the press release to your members and it would be a great help to remind your Member of Parliament and/or Minister, the Hon. Reece Whitby MLA that we need an independent review of the practice, which we have been lobbying for during the last 4 years.
We are concerned that if no change is being implemented soon, that we wil be left with a highly impoverished landscape devoid of our treasured marsupials and birds.
