Help protect endangered Australian sea lions and southern right whales.

Hi Clive,
We have only 5 days left to help secure strong marine protection for our south coast marine life.

PROTECT WA’s SOUTH COAST TODAY! The WA South Coast Marine Park is an incredible opportunity to protect a critical stretch of Australia’s globally significant Great Southern Reef – from east of Bremer Bay to the South Australian border – and to help keep WA’s much-loved south coast healthy for the future. But we need to ensure this marine park has enough fully protected sanctuaries to safeguard our precious marine life, like endangered Australian sea lions and southern right whales. For the past four months, the Western Australian Government have been collecting community feedback on their plan to create a brand-new marine park along WA’s south coast. A South Coast Marine Park with strong sanctuary protection will help keep marine life healthy for the future, but there are crucial areas of protection missing in the draft plans – for endangered Australian sea lions and southern right whales, for nearshore coastal protection, and for the rich diversity of marine life in the Recherche Archipelago off Esperance. The public consultation ends on Sunday, meaning there are only 5 days left to have your say! Add your name to secure strong sanctuary protection today. Creating a network of fully protected sanctuaries along WA’s south coast will help keep our marine life healthy and support sustainable fishing and our treasured coastal lifestyle into the future.

Jointly managed with the Traditional Owner groups along the south coast, this marine park will honour cultural values and recognise connection to Sea Country.

This is also a great opportunity to ask the WA government to make the entire South Coast Marine Park oil and gas free – to protect our coast from any future destructive seismic blasting and oil spills.

With your help, the South Coast Marine Park can be a world-class marine park to rival the Great Barrier Reef and Ningaloo. Please add your name for a world-class South Coast Marine Park today! Thanks for your support, The team at the Conservation Council of WA  We respectfully acknowledge the Whadjuk People of Noongar Boodjar, along with the Traditional Owners of all Countries where CCWA operates. We seek to always walk alongside our Aboriginal partners, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
