PLEASE ATTEND – Kalamunda Tree Protection Policy Motion follow-up at Ordinary Council Meeting Tues 25th February 2025.

Dear NRPG members and interested,

At the Feb 4, 2025 General Meeting of Electors, the Motion by Dr Michelle Bunn that the City of Kalamunda immediately proceed to adopt a Tree Protection Policy by June 2025, was unanimously voted in favour by a very large attendance of ratepayers. (Also unanimously carried was the Motion by Rachel Davison against the MacDonalds development application in Kalamunda).

The City is obligated to bring these Motions to Council for consideration per the City’s website:

All decisions made at Electors’ Meetings are brought before the Council for consideration either at the next Ordinary Council Meeting, or if that’s not possible, the subsequent Council meeting. Otherwise, the Council can call a Special Council Meeting for this purpose. For a decision made at an Electors’ Meeting to become a decision of the Council, the Council must adopt or agree to it. If Council makes a decision in response to a decision made at an Electors’ Meeting, the reasons for the decision are recorded in the minutes of the Council meeting.

We understand that this will be discussed at the upcoming Ordinary Council Meeting on Tues 25 Feb starting 6:30pm: Ordinary Council Meeting

Please come to the meeting – and bring others – to show your interest in this, otherwise it may continue to languish. Please share with friends!

Kind regards,
Steve Gates
