By Steve Gates

Dear NRPG members and interested,

For your information – simple quick action to call your MP, and note the snap action tomorrow (Wed) morning if you can make it.

Kind regards,

Hi Steve
Sometimes there’s an opportunity in a campaign, this is one of those pivotal moments.West Australians are up in arms about the Premier’s statement last week that if Woodside’s plans to drill for oil and gas around Scott Reef do not go ahead then fracking in the Kimberley will have to happen to supply the state with gas from 2032 onwards. What we know is that oil and gas companies are supplying just over half of the WA government gas requirement. If they supplied the full amount and rolled out renewables properly, there would be no need to drill Scott Reef and frack the Kimberley. Our snap action on Friday at the WA Parliament hit the news and has also hit a chord with the community. People are wanting to take action and the best thing you can do now is call your local Member of Parliament if you live in these electorates – Fremantle, Simone McGurk: (08) 9336 7000 Perth, John Carey: (08) 9443 2359 Maylands, Dan Bull: (08) 9370 3550 Bibra Lake, Sook Yee Lai: (08) 9331 8015 Balcatta, David Michael: (08) 9207 1538 Kwinana, Roger Cook: (08) 9439 6444 Bunbury, Don Punch: (08) 9791 3636If you don’t live in these electorates then please call Premier Cook’s ministerial office on (08) 6552 5000.If you’d like advice on what to say go to the Frack Free WA website here.FEEL LIKE TAKING MORE ACTION?Buru Energy wants to frack and we want to make sure they get the message loud and clear, fracking is not acceptable in the Kimberley! They have an AGM this week in Perth, come along and welcome shareholders as they go in.Buru Energy AGM ActionWhen:  8:15 AM – 9:00 AM – Wednesday 27 May, 2026Where: Outside The Park Business Centre, 45 Ventnor Ave, West Perth WA 6005Bring: Placards or yellow triangle signs, and wear your Frack Free Kimberley T-shirtRSVP: Head here to RSVPLet’s make a big noise for a Frack Free Kimberley!   Martin Pritchard, Executive Director
