Wildflower Society of WA, Eastern Hills Branch Plant Sale
Next Saturday 11th May 2024 9am to 2pm
Hi Nannas, Jarrahs and other forest lovers;
Annual Native Plant Sale
Octagonal Hall, McGlew Road, Glen Forrest
Western Australians are justifiably proud of their rich heritage of wildflowers. Since 1958 the Wildflower Society has been the focus for people interested in, and concerned for, the preservation of wildflowers. Society activities revolve around the study of wildflowers in bushland and cultivation as well as action and support for the preservation of wildflowers in bushland.
Members of our society come from all sections of the community. A shared wonder of Western Australia’s flora has brought together professional and amateur botanists and the interested enthusiasts. It is this shared expertise from throughout the community that is the strength of the Society.
The Wildflower Society of Western Australia was founded in March 1958 to promote the propagation, understanding and conservation of Western Australian wildflowers. Our aspirations are the same today. We express them through the stated aim: ‘To know, grow, conserve and enjoy our native flora.’
With more than 1000 members, we are dedicated to protecting the bushland so that this natural heritage can be enjoyed by many future generations. The Society’s activities are devoted to understanding the flora in all its aspects; sharing information on how to recognise the plants; and the communities in which they naturally occur in bushland; and to propagating and growing the various species. We place a strong emphasis on knowing and protecting our bushland plants.
