Urgent – A unique chance to stop the massive Woodside climate-wrecking gas expansion- by Thursday 24 November 2022

By Steve Gates

Dear NRPG members,

Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek’s recent commitment to reconsider 18 fossil fuel projects in Australia, means we have a unique second chance to stop these climate-wrecking projects!

The International Energy Agency stated that no more new fossil fuel projects can be allowed if we are to have any chance of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5Deg C.

Please have your say via the Conservation Council’s submission guide below – simple and should only take a few minutes.

Kind regards,
Steve Gates

A second chance to stop the North West Shelf expansion!MAKE A SUBMISSION >>>
Dear Steve,I’ll get straight to the point: Woodside’s North West Shelf gas project is one of WA’s largest polluters and we have a chance to stop it.A recent federal ruling has meant that 18 new coal and gas projects across Australia are being reviewed. As a result, the Federal Environment Minister is having to reconsider Woodside’s dangerous proposal to expand the climate-wrecking North West Shelf until 2070.
STOP THE NORTH WEST SHELF
If approved, this project would create a whopping 4.3 billion tonnes of emissions and derail any chance of Australia meeting emissions targets under the Paris Agreement.Conservation Council of Western Australia (CCWA) made a submission guide, with directions on how to draft yours starting on page 3. Will you make your voice heard, Steve?Public comment on Woodside’s proposal is open until 8:29pm AWST this Thursday 24 November.
