By Steve Gates

Dear NRPG members,

Just a reminder (if you haven’t already) to stand up for our forests against the continual expansion of mining!

Kind regards,
Steve

Dear Steve
Thank you if you have already submitted your comments to the EPA urging them to fully asses Alcoa’s Mine Management Plans. If you have not yet submitted, you have until tomorrow, Tuesday 15th August at 11:59pm.  After six decades of secrecy and more than 28,000 ha of forest cleared, the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is requesting public submissions on whether to assess Alcoa’s Mine Management Plans.  It only takes a few minutes with our useful guide and is a vital step in securing the protection of the Northern Jarrah Forests for biodiversity, drinking water and climate. If you have already submitted your comments then please consider sharing this call to action with your networks. We have shareable posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin. Make a submission  Our short guide outlines some of the reasons why there needs to be a Public Environmental Review, along with supporting information relating to each of the factors that the EPA is likely to base their assessment on.  Download the guide  An illustration of an hourglass with a forest at the top, dripping down to cleared and mined land at the bottom. Find more information about the impact of bauxite mining on our webpage Mining in the Northern Jarrah Forests and you can find links to the media articles on our website here.  For the forests,Jess Jess Beckerling
