Kalamunda Council Meeting Tuesday 28 Feb to consider Climate Change Action Plan Update + Urban Forest Strategy

By Steve Gates

Dear NRPG members and interested,

The City of Kalamunda Climate Change Action Plan will go to Council on Tues 28 Feb if you would like to attend to show interest and support. It’s not all that we would like to have for a few reasons, and the actual carbon emissions audit is still to be completed to determine the ‘baseline’ for emissions reduction, but it’s a start and we understand it is a work in progress which will be updated periodically.

“The CCAP is a live document that will evolve over time as new information and technologies

emerge, and government initiatives become available. The City of Kalamunda will conduct

an internal operational evaluation every year for the first five years of implementation and

every two years thereafter to track progress and opportunities. The City’s greenhouse gas

emissions will be reported annually via a recognised reporting mechanism.”

Also coming to Council that evening will be the “draft Urban Forest Strategy” to be considered to go out for public comment.

Hope you can make it,

Steve Gates
