Hi Clive,
welcome to the CCWA Monthly Newsletter for July! As we enter the last phase of the season of Makuru, the coldest and wettest time of the year we’ve seen our waterways and catchments begin to recover from the long dry summer.  Makuru is the time when many animals begin to pair up in preparation for breeding in the coming season. If you look closely, you might see pairs of ‘wardongs’ (ravens) flying together. In the South West, lakes and rivers will soon be bustling with Black Swans, or ‘Mali,’ as they get ready to nest and raise their young. As the Makuru season comes to a close, you should also start to notice the white flowers of the weeping peppermint, as the blues start to make way for the white and cream flowers of Djilba. This month, with so many events coming up and a busy period welcoming new staff to our team, we have decided to focus on sharing our upcoming events with you. We will be back to our regular newsletter format next month! We hope to see you at an event soon – thank you for your ongoing support.
