Don’t miss out! Learn how you can Defend WA’s Nature!
Hi Steve, You are invited to join our interactive MP Workshop this Thursday, 30 May, to learn how to advocate for strong nature laws!Under pressure from powerful vested interests, the federal nature law reform process has slowed down, and the WA Government is proposing to erode the independence of the WA EPA (Environmental Protection Authority), our state’s environmental watchdog. The nature we love is in trouble. WA’s flora, fauna, and ecosystems are facing increasing threats from climate change, deforestation, land clearing, fossil fuel expansion, industrialisation, and pollution. Nature cannot defend itself. The best way we can protect nature and our unique quality of life in WA is through strong nature laws. The next step is getting our voices heard by meeting with our Members of Parliament. We understand this can be daunting, so we’ve partnered with Environs Kimberley, Urban Bushland Council, WA Forest Alliance, Wildflower Society of WA, and the Wilderness Society to break down the steps and link you with like-minded nature advocates in your community! REGISTER HERE! Don’t miss out on this opportunity! At this workshop, you will gain the confidence to use your voice to stand up for nature and build a working relationship with your MP. You will learn the necessary skills to: Learn how to: Have impactful conversations about protecting nature Schedule a face-to-face meeting with your MP Develop ongoing contact with your MP on nature issues Get the most out of your meeting, with clear asks and a follow-up plan Plus, we’ll have an MP meeting role-play – so you can practice your questions and feel prepared for the real thing!
