Dear Steve, Next month, we’re meeting with Australia’s Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek – and we want you to be part of it! You’re invited to the 2024 National Evening with the Minister – Strengthening Our Nature Laws Webinar, on Wednesday, August 7h from 3:45 to 4:45 pm. One year ago, more than 1,000 of us packed out a Zoom webinar to make our case to Minister Plibersek. It was exciting to join forces with state environment groups from across the country for a big national meeting. And it was a powerful moment to show the huge groundswell of support for bold action on climate change and nature protection.

Speaking up for nature has never been more important. Right now, our national environment laws are undergoing once-in-a-generation reform and it’s a huge opportunity to win changes that can finally protect the places and wildlife we love. To stop destructive land clearing, coal mines in koala habitats, and logging that kills gliders.

Federal Labor came to the last election with a promise to fix our broken nature laws. Now we need to turn up the pressure on them to back this up with strong action. Will you get involved?  Join our webinar at 3:45pm on August 7 and be part of a collective, nation-wide voice advocating for nature. Your attendance and participation are crucial. RSVP now and share this invitation to ensure a strong turnout. The Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act is the national law that’s meant to protect our environment. But with Australia ranked as one of the worst countries for extinction AND a global deforestation hotspot, it’s clear our national environment law is not doing what it says on the packet. That’s why these reforms are so important.

At this webinar, we’ll be discussing some of the big issues facing our environment and putting key questions to Minister Plibersek.

We’re hoping to make this webinar even bigger than the last.

With thousands of people from across the country showing their support online, we can put pressure on our government to make real commitments to stop extinction and to protect the places and wildlife we love.

This is your chance to be part of a collective voice advocating for change. Let’s make a difference together. Your presence will amplify our call for meaningful commitments.
